What I love about the wine
Masi Costasera Amarone Classico is pretty amazing! With such a high ABV, I was anticipating a very strong burn going down with my first sip. It’s been a minute since I have had a bottle of wine over $65, so I was expecting a big Italian, leather and spice kind of wine. Especially after seeing it’s rich red ruby color in my glass. I was pleasantly surprised with how soft and smooth this bottle of wine was. I love that Masi Costasera Amarone Classico stayed true the boldness and flavors of an Amarone, but was very easy to drink and enjoyable by all wine lovers.
But how does it taste?
Masi Costasera Amarone Classico, is not full of fruit and spice descriptions. It does mention ancient heart and techniques so I am not surprised to taste the classic notes of an Amarone. When you first bring the glass to your mouth you cannot help but smell the intensity but don’t let that scare you. At first sip you taste sweet and juicy red fruits, followed buy bitter chocolate and a touch of pepper. There is so much balance and flavor in this bottle of wine, very much worth the price.
