What I love about the wine

Banshee Pinot Noir is not a bottle of wine I would have typically bought because there isn’t really much to the bottle. The back of the bottle didn’t have much to work with either. I googled what a Banshee was and it gave me some Irish Folklore description of a really spooky mythical creature. But maybe it’s also sometime type of bird, I saw something like that when I tried adding “Bird” to the search. My selling point was the price point. I had some friend coming over who only like light, red wines, so I gave it try. I felt like with a name like Banshee it was either going to be absolutely disgusting or it was going to be really good. It was really good.

I love that the makers behind the brand actually were courageous enough to name it after anything that could be associated with anything spooky. It was like the Chupacabra seasoning. I dig it. But I only dig it because the wine was really good. It was full of flavor, slightly tart and easy to drink.

But how does it taste?

Banshee Pinot Noir, leaves it all up to trust when it comes to telling us what we can expect from their bottle of wine. Aside from it’s high alcohol volume I knew nothing about it. It’s surprisingly smooth to have a 14% ALC by vol. It gives you notes of tart cherry and raspberry it is slightly tart and acidity. I also felt it was a little earthy. It’s a dry light Pinot Noir that is quite enjoyable.
