A quick, easy, and savory dish that can easily be made vegan. Throw in some chicken and make it your own. You can even make this with taco seasoned ground beef. The possibilities are endless! But for now, I hope you enjoy this kid approved dish.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can of black beans, rinsed and strained
  • ½ cup broccoli florets, diced
  • 1 cup cheese (ok to add a little extra if you like it extra cheesy) * Vegan cheese is already salty so there isn’t a need to add salt.
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 package of crescent rolls

EQUIPMENT

  • Large bowl for mixing ingredients
  • Large baking/cookie sheet pan
  • Rolling pin
  • Pizza cutter

Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat oven according to the package. Typically 350 degrees Fahrenheit for non stick cookie sheets.
  2. Mix black beans, chopped broccoli, cheese, and mayonnaise in a bowl.
  3. Roll out the dough to make one big flat sheet of dough on your large baking sheet.
  4. Pour mixed ingredients on to the middle of the flattened sheet of dough.
  5. Take the pizza cutter and cut on the along both sides of the dough. Roughly about an inch apart.
  6. Start to fold the cut dough to cover the mixture. You can get creative and overlap it in in fancy braid like manner or simply get the two cuts to meet in the middle to cover the mix.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. depending on your oven it may take a little longer for the dough to fully cook.
  8. Finally remove from oven, cut, serve and enjoy!
